food recovery kitchen
The food recovery program
The Food Recovery Kitchen provides to-go meals prepared from food donations from Watauga County Community members.
How it works
The Food Recovery Kitchen is stocked with donations from local grocery stores, bakeries, local restaurants, Appalachian State University, and donations from other community members.
With each scheduled visit, Families can receive a sandwich/soup combination or a to-go meal for each member of their family.
Meal items will vary depending on time of day (breakfast/lunch/dinner) and on what has been donated for that week. We make every effort to provide tasty, nutritious meals that clients can take home with them.
The Hunger and Health Coalition requires a photo I.D. and proof of a Watauga County address when signing up for food recovery services.
