Donor Relations Coordinator

  • Direct Supervisor is Director of Finance, Reports to the Executive Director.​

The Hunger and Health Coalition (HHC) is seeking a Donor Relations Coordinator to join our growing team.

General Definition of Work

This position is a full time position that is based here in Boone, North Carolina with hours ranging from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, passionate, energetic, and highly organized. The perfect candidate will also have excellent writing skills and interpersonal skills.

As the largest food pantry in Watauga County we take a holistic approach to our neighbors wellness journey. Here, food is medicine. We provide our neighbors with fresh foods to help combat their diet linked diseases. We also have a free pharmacy as well as a safety net of resources to help alleviate any arduous decisions our clients may have to face. Our operations are both extensive and fast paced. Our team is inclusive and passionate about helping our neighbors in need.

As the Donor Relations Coordinator your main priority will be to increase and maintain the amount of donors engaged with the HHC’s mission. On average the HHC has 75 monthly donors with an average total donation amount of $35,000. Our goal is to increase these numbers each year as well as identify larger donors who are passionate about our mission.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with the board of directors and Executive Director to create and implement a fundraising plan.

  • Collaborating with the communications team to develop a digital fundraising strategy.

  • Furnishing board with regular progress reports on donations and donor relationships.

  • Collaborating with a network within the High Country to identify and build relationships with new donors.

  • Maintaining relationships with existing sponsors.

  • Obtaining financial support from individuals and organizations.

  • Helping to coordinate fundraising and special events.

  • Generating development materials such as grants upon request from the Executive Director.

  • Responsible for data entry and gift processing.

  • Able to balance multiple projects going on at one time.

  • Ensuring task are completed.

  • Proper documentation skills. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, non-profit management, or related field.

  • 3+ years of sales or business development experience.

  • Proficient with sponsorship solicitation.

  • Excellent computer skills.

  • Proficient with MS Office applications and CRMs.

  • Excellent understanding of best practices.

  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Available to travel, work weekends and evenings.

  • Valid driver’s license.
